Still Growing and Going Strong after 43 Years

Still Growing and Going Strong after 43 Years
April 17, 2014 Visit Madison

The Attic & Coffee Mill Cafe;  what a wonderful legacy of 43 years of serving their neighborhood, City of Madison, Jefferson County and the Midwest with great coffee, pastries, lunches, gifts and more. Bob & Irene List (Judy’s Mother & Dad)  began back in April 1971 and shortly after Judy & Phil George and Julie George Truax stepped in.  And the rest is history…a wonderful history of hard work, smiles, great food and love.

I can’t recall how much coffee or wonderful home brewed teas I have consumed, but I do recall meeting friends, family and visitors in a wonderful atmosphere of fresh brewed coffees, warmed pastries and delicious meals. I love to sit in the window and watch the world go by..of course, being a good Presbyterian, I have to have either the fresh brewed coffee of the day or tea and then something to eat. I also love to sit in the window and wait for Nate & Stacy’s daughter Ashtyn to get out of school at Middleton so we can get our hot chocolate with whipped cream and chocolate syrup and talk about her day in Kindergarten.

Since the Attic is open at 7:30 until 5:00 Monday through Saturday with lunch served between 11 and 2, there is no excuse not to get stop and stock up for your day.  I love to have meetings at the Attic with different local boards and friends.  I love to bring my Youth Group in to enjoy their gelato and special soft drink selection. Then of course you can relax… visit with friends and enjoy Mill Street Salads, Meat Loaf sandwiches (my favorite) assortments of soups and sandwiches and of course desserts.

Judy and Julie are supporting our local economy by buying local…pretty awesome, eh? Be sure to come down and visit and thank them for all their long years of serving our community…ENJOY!!
