First Night

Settle into your new home for the next two days.  Take a walk along the river, visit the Jefferson County Heritage Center, Stop at The Bird House and check out the indoor nature trail or do a bit of shopping on Main Street.

Hors d’oeuvres and a beverage will be waiting for you back at the Inn followed by dinner.  Don’t worry; we will do everything including the dishes.  After dinner save room for your “all you can eat” sundae bar.

You’ve got a big day tomorrow but if it’s too early for sleep try our selection of popular games for some family fun or just relax with a good book.

Rise and Shine

Enjoy a pot of coffee delivered outside you room before coming down to one of our fabulous breakfasts.  The candles will be lit on the elegantly set table.

After breakfast it is off for a trolley tour of Madison.  The trolley is a wonderful way to get a glimpse at all of the wonderful sites and a brief history of the city.  After departing the trolley, head across the street for your tour of the Lanier Mansion.

You will be getting hungry now so take time out for lunch at the Downtowner.  They offer a huge selection but save room for the homemade desserts. The Red Pepper Deli has a large selection of wonderful sandwiches and soup.   If you are in the mood for a great burger, try Shipley’s Tavern.  You might even want to try the pinball-bowling machine for a quarter per person.  Shipley’s is not suitable for anyone under the age of 21.

Time for a little more shopping and antiquing before you head over to the Thomas Family Winery for a cheese & wine tasting with Steve Thomas.  Sample a hand picked selection of cheeses from around the world and get a taste of the wines to pair them with.  Learn how to host a cheese & wine tasting for your friends at home.

Back to the Inn for a little R&R before dinner.  Oh look, the cookie elf has left a basket full of homemade cookies for you. 

Second Night

Another lovely dinner will be served around the dining table.  A choice of menus will be offered for your selection.

Finish the evening with a family movie at Madison’s historic Ohio Theatre – popcorn & soft drink included.   Or if you need more activity, choose a round of bowling at our smoke free facility on the hilltop.

Home Again – Home Again

Another scrumptious candlelight breakfast awaits you as you gather around the table one last time. A few more stories, a few more laughs as you bid farewell to your wonderful weekend.

After breakfast, check out Clifty Falls State Park.  There are numerous trails to hike, a naturalist to advise you, and beautiful views of the Ohio River. This should relax everyone for your trip back home again.
